Rodney Sayles has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer since 1976 and has  co-owned and operated Sayles Funeral Home since 1978. He grew up on Main St. in St. Johnsbury and graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1971, the University of Vermont in 1975, and the New England Institute in 1976.

Karen Sayles is the co-owner and corporate secretary and is an integral part of its operations. She is a teacher in the Barton school system and an active member of the North Congregational Church. 

The Sayles raised their family of three children living above the funeral home and still chose to live there given the 24/7 nature of funeral business.

Thomas Barrett started a new career in funeral service in 1996 and is a licensed funeral director.  Tom is a 1976 graduate of St. Johnsbury Academy and married Patti Gaskin of Lyndonville.  Tom is principally responsible for the day-to-day operations of Guibord Funeral Home in Lyndonville. 

Ernie Coolbeth began working part-time at the Guibord Funeral Home in 1973 with Charles Guibord.  He and wife Bev remain valuable and important parts of our service to the Lyndonville community.

Marcia Martel works as both funeral homes' office-person (9AM - 2PM at Sayles Funeral Home).  She grew up in Passumpsic as part of the large Robinson family and graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1969.  She worked at St. Johnsbury Trucking and currently serves as zoning administrator/lister for the Town of Waterford.

Sayles Funeral Home is located at 525 Summer St. in St. Johnsbury.  The funeral home was renovated in the 1980s to handle large gatherings, yet the building maintains its warm Victorian charm.

Renovations to the Guibord Funeral Home have resulted in a spacious and accomodating funeral home facility capable of comfortably seating over a hundred attendees and handling large visiting hours.  The original stained glass windows have been enhanced with windows done by local artist Elizabeth Robbins. The funeral home is further appointed with artwork done by Roderick Wells depicting recognizable Lyndon scenes.
